Designed by English architect Norman Foster and French bridge engineer Michel Virlogeux, the Milau Viaduct is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world. With one pier's summit topping 343m, it is slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower and only 38m shorter than the Empire State Building. It is 2460m long and 32m wide, and has been referred to as a modern-day "megastructure".
