TECHNICAL DATASHEET

Features

  • Waterbased, easy clean up, low odour, non-toxic.
  • Non-yellowing.
  • Good UV resistant properties - normal fading of colours can take place over time.
  • Matt finish, thus not highlighting imperfections like a sheen or gloss paint.
  • Good washability and resists formation of shiny patches on cleaning.
  • Good stain resistance for a matt finish coating.
  • Can be tinted to specific colour requirements.
  • 100% lead free and low VOC - reduces the odour associated when painting indoors.

Intended Usages

  • Correctly prepared interior and exterior unglazed brick and cement plaster free of hairline cracks.
  • Sound previously painted surfaces.
  • Correctly prepared gypsum plaster and fibre cement boards.

Application Details

  • Mixing: Stir before use with a flat paddle to an even consistency. Stir occasionally during use.
  • Method: Roller, brush or airless spray.
  • Thinning: Not recommended.
  • Cleaning: Remove as much of the product as possible from the application equipment before cleaning with water.

Conditions:

  • Temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
  • Relative humidity of less than 85%, preferably between 10:00 and 16:00.
  • Ideally apply when the temperature of the substrate is at least 2°C above dew point.
  • If possible away from direct sunlight.

Drying time:
Touch dry - 30 minutes.
Note: Higher temperatures will accelerate the drying times (approximately halved for every 10°C increase), whilst lower temperatures will retard the drying time (approximately doubled for every 10°C decrease).

Recoating time:
4 hours at 23°C.

Requirements:
Two coats.

Limitations

  • Cannot be applied in cold and moist conditions.
  • Product cannot accommodate excessive movement, i.e. hairline cracking or application onto flexible coatings like texture coats and waterproofing systems.
  • Spot touching up over large areas will always be noticeable.
  • Not as durable as Prominent Textured or Prominent Satin as an exterior finish, but more economical.
  • Less washable than Prominent Premium Sheen and Prominent Premium Eggshell Enamel on smooth interior surfaces.
  • Cannot be used on excessively rough plasters as varying thickness in the coating can lead to cracking.
  • Cannot tolerate more than 3% volume Universal Colourant.
  • The low VOC compliance is applicable on white, pastel tinting base and selected standard colours for batches manufactured from 1 September 2010 onwards.
  • To ensure a consistent appearance ensure that batch numbers on all the containers are the same. Where the batch numbers differ, intermix before use.
