A two-day Module 1 (Basic Paint Technology), Module 2 (Product Knowledge) and Module 3 (Painting Various Substrates) training session has been allocated per month. These sessions will strictly start from 8:30 to 16:30 and a light lunch will also be served.
This training can also be attended via Teams on the above-mentioned dates and be part of the face-to-face live sessions.
Training sessions in the regions, other than at the Academy in Alrode, (this includes application training and theoretical training is on request), we therefore request that bookings are made well in advance to secure a date. We will strive to accommodate all reasonable training requests for the 2026 calendar year.
Course content will cover the power of paint knowledge, the in-depth understanding of technical data sheets and application knowledge to ensure that the correct product choices are made for painting projects. This will empower the trainee to become a paint specialist and to make the correct product choices for the next painting project without the need to know every detail of the Prominent Paints product range. The language of paint will also be a hot topic during the course, and you will be challenged to solve paint problems and build paint systems for specification purposes.
The painting of various substrates will enable you to correctly identify the different substrates and their characteristics, how to prepare, prime and paint the surface using the correct painting system. This will include new surfaces and previously painted surfaces as well as problem areas that you will be able to correctly identify and rectify with confidence. We believe that you will enjoy the journey through the product range and the paint process, so book early to secure your seat at the training academy.
Prominent Paints provides quality training to all students, and we look forward to declaring you competent after completion of an assessment process. This course is not aligned with unit standards and is an in-house approved skills programme.
